Day 91 - Girl's Day Out

Since the weather was predicted to be beautiful I took the morning/afternoon to investigate the St. Kilda markets with two of my friends. Decked out in sun dresses and sandles we strolled along the little booths looking at homemade crafts and paintings. We spoiled ourselves to a fresh lunch on the lawn down by the pier and followed it up with some ice cream. yay. After the markets we headed for the National Gallery of Victoria (Art museum) to check out some of the featured art exhibits. I got to tell the others about some of the Australian artists I knew about from class and we made friends with the security guard and he told us heaps about the paintings and the security that goes into protecting them. Eventually we realized we needed to join the real world again and headed back to Whitley. I spent the evening finishing a bio assignment. I headed out late with some folks to watch Whitley play in the Battle of the Bands down in a city club- I thought they were awesome! but they didn't win anything, bummer. I came back and continued on the bio until I was too tired and then called it a night.

Beautiful but Windy

I can't say I remember who painted this - but look at the detail!!

I can't believe how well the colors keep in these paintings

this is one small panel of a mural that extended for almost an entire wall.
