Day 77 - WA - The Final Snorkel

I woke up early and decided to take a little walk around looking for birds and such – ok I was looking for the lizard – but I couldn’t find it. I volunteered myself to pack the trailer with Victoria and soon we were on our way back to Turquoise Bay for a drift snorkel. We made a pit stop at the visitor’s center to let the day warm up a bit before heading out on the beach. The conditions were perfect and the current not too swift and soon we were all snorkeling. I think Victoria and I were out of the water a total of 15 minutes the whole time we were there and managed to get in 4 drifts because of it. The final drift we swam as far off shore as we could to see some of the “cooler” critters – and we did! I saw a cuttlefish (squidtype critter), 2 sharks, and 2 more turtles – amazing! The current got pretty quick as you neared the end of the drift so you really needed to swim to get out – it was a little tough without fins but we survived. After a little lay down in the sunshine to dry off we were loaded up for our return to Exmouth for lunch. The rest of the day was spent driving before we made camp at a roadside bush spot. We were supposed to stay at an awesome beachside one but you needed a chemical toilet – bummer. Anyway we all played cricket till it got too dark to see and then proceeded to make some dinner. One of the girls had a birthday so we all got cake and to hear the Happy Birthday song in every language represented. Andy set up a little tent for Steph so she could get better but the rest of us slept out

Some Kangaroo/Wallaroos - They might be Reds - I'm really not sure how to tell?

The best day for a snorkel
