I started today by finishing the paper. Hopefully I did alright :O( Anyway after that I headed to meet Pam and Chad at the hotel (they had gone out shopping in the city for the morning). We met our penguin tour at noon and it took us almost an hour to drive around and pick everyone else up and I tragically realized I had forgotten my camera! Regardless, soon we were on our way to Phillip Island known for its Fairy Penguins (Now called Little Penguins). We took a stop along the way for lunch and another at a winery. We also killed some time at a little wildlife zoo where we fed some Wallabies and had our picture taken with a Koala. Next we went to a little town on Phillip Island to get some dinner before heading out to the Nobbies (seal area) We were a little bummed because the Nobbies gift shop was closed, but it gave us extra time to explore. The entire area had been claimed by a group of silver gulls - there were babies and poop everywhere!! We saw a seal out on the rocks and some penguins in nests (SO CUTE) but the best was yet to come. Right at dusk we set out for the famous penguin parade. We paid a little extra money to sit on the private board walk so we could see more penguins. It was so exciting. Unfortunately you can no longer take pictures or video but hopefully the youtube clip below will get the idea across. After the parade we followed some penguins all the way up the visitor centre for some shopping and a free coffee. The tour gave us PSP (little hand held playstations) to watch movies on the way home. It was a late night but well worth the trip!!! I heart penguins so this was my dream come true!!!
