Day 115 - Wednesday - Bondi Beach

The weather was still being a little ugly so we all bundled up for a day of exploring the city. We decided to take advantage of a Hop on/Hop off bus. It was a big double decker red bus that basically drives around the city pointing out highlights and stopping at a series of attractions - you buy a pass for 24 hours and then can get on and off the bus whenever you'd like. This particular company had two buses, one that tours the inner city and one that heads out to Bondi Beach. We toured a bit of the inner city first and stopped the museum to check out a cool exhibit on Australian animals. It was put together nicely. We headed down to the central station to catch the Bondi Beach bus around noon but unfortunately we had to wait a half hour for it come which we passed by snacking on some ice cream. After a rather long ride to Bondi Beach we set off in search of some grub and ended up eating at a little cafe called Gabby's. Next we took a hike along the sea and checked out the surfers. It was a pretty neat little trail and we spent some time exploring the pools that had been built along the cliff for swimming (filled with sea water!). We caught the 4:45 bus back to the city and finished the inner loop before heading back to the hotel for dinner. Chad wasn't feeling well so we decided to take it easy during the evening and I spent some time working on the paper in the Exec. Lounge before bed.
