Today we went on a tour of the Great Ocean Road with Wildlife tours. It was definitely a little difficult getting up for our early start (especially since I got up at 4am to work on my paper first) - but soon we were on our way and I got a chance to sleep in the bus for a while before we got to the Road. We started just outside of Anglesea at Bell's Beach (from the movie Point Break and the home of the Rip Curl Pro surfing competition) and then headed down the Great Ocean Road. The weather was off and on crappy but it was still a relatively nice day(sometimes)- just a little windy and cool. We saw some wild koalas and enjoyed lunch at Apollo Bay. After lunch we took a little walk through the rainforest, in the rain, but it was still pretty. Next we visited the famous 12 Apostles, Pam and Chad went on a helicopter ride - but I was way too afraid. Chad loved it but Pam was scared - she's still braver than me! Our next stop was Loch Gorge (or something like that) - The area was the scene of a shipwreck a long time ago and the two survivors ended up having to sleep in gorge. It was neat looking but I accidentally got wet in the surf - brrr! We ended the day with London Bridge (well half of it) - rumor has it that the other half collapsed leaving two people (who were having an affair) stranded out on the now island part. There were definitely people stranded but it is unknown if the rumors are true - some internet research could probably clear it up... We started our journey home and took a pit stop to look at an Echidna and then again for dinner. Back in Melbourne we grabbed our bags from Whitley and then headed to the Hilton for the night (I wasn't supposed to have guests in College because it is the exam period). Of course I forgot some of my important paper stuff which caused another early day on Sunday :o(

wild koala hanging on for dear life!

Some scenery

A crazy house!

The rainforest and some seriously big trees

There's the helicopter in the upper left hand corner and an apostle on the right

more scenery

Some Apostles (there were never actually 12 - only 10 and they used to be called the Sow and Piglets - "they" renamed them for the tourism industry! Anyway there are only 7 left today - that one in the front fell over in 2005)

Loch's gorge

London Bridge fell down! (that gap used to be a second arch - it fell in the 90s sometime)
